The Denim Edit
I have to say that this edit has been one of my favourites to research and curate. I can also say it's cost me a lot of money in the process as I kept ordering things (all in the name of research of course) because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE DENIM! Long gone are the days when denim is just for jeans or a jacket, you can pretty much buy denim anything nowadays, Britney & Justin proved that (not my favourite look I have to say) back in 2001 when they walked the red carpet head to toe in matching double denim!!
My love of denim is strong, my wardrobe is full of denim items that I consider to be important staples in my wardrobe such as shirts, tops, skirts and jumpsuits all well loved and frequently worn.
First of all denim goes with anything, it can be used to dress down more formal items or worn on its own it can make a real statement. Denim is also durable due to the process in which it is made, it's designed to undergo rough conditions. I also think denim looks better with age, as it wears and fades it softens slightly and adds individuality and an edge to the item.
Denim is also something that stands the test of time, different styles of jeans come and go with the seasons but a denim dress will be more than just a one season wonder. For all the reasons above I have put together an edit of my top denim items that are on the high street right now.
As always I have linked them for you, all you need to do is click on the photo and it will take you directly to the website.
Happy viewing.
The All In One
I'm staying away from jeans in this edit but a great alternative to them is a jumpsuit, dungarees or a playsuit. They are perfect for dressing up with a heel for a night out or they can just as easily be dressed down with trainers for a more casual look.
Top, Shirts & Blouses
Denim tops don't just have to be the classic denim shirt. There are so many pretty blouses on the high street at the moment. If you are feeling brave you can go for a double denim look - just make sure your denim is not too matchy-matchy, don't go with the same shade from head to toe and make sure your accessories are contrasting.
Skirts
Denim skirts are a great go to all year round. Wear them now with a tee, sandals or trainers and pair with long boots and knits in the winter.
Shorts
You can't beat a pair of denim shorts in the summer. There are so many different styles around the moment you don't just have to stick with the classic cut off. Choose one that suits your personality and that flatters your body shape.
Dresses
One of my favourite denim pieces is a denim dress. Again, they are so versatile. They can be dressed up or down and will also see you through the seasons if you choose well.
